May 31, 2000 Today is Wednesday, and we took a tour. We went to Nijo Castle (Nijo-jo). We had to take are shoes off. It was the first residence of the Shogan. A Shogan was the top military. Then we went to the Golden Pavilion Buddhist Temple. It was made with forty-four pounds of fourteen carrot gold. Then we went to the Imperial Palace. We saw some nice Japanese gardens. Then they dropped us off at the handicraft center. Then we took a small bus back to our hotel. Then we rested for the rest of the day. Because we were so tired from walking, and it was raining.
